Hi Expert,
The server consists of 6 network adapters:
- NIC1/NIC2 is a NIC teaming for public communication, both are GB NICs.
- NIC3/NIC4 is configured for storage network, both are GB NICs.
- NIC5 is for heartbeat network, it's a 10GB NIC but connect to a GB swtich.
- NIC6 is for large file transfer, it's a 10GB NIC and connect to a 10GB swith.
The server consists of 7 disks (RAID1 for OS(2 SAS 15K 2.5 146GB), RAID5 for data (5 SAS 15K 2.5 300GB))
I know that SMB multichannel is enabled by default, and in fact, when copying large files between servers, I can see SMB multiconnections via Get-SMBMultiConnection.
What I'm concered is the speed to copy the files, when SMB Multichannel is enabled, the speed is almost 250MBytes. Then, I disabled all network adapters but 10GB NIC connected to 10GB switch, re-copying the files, the speed is almost 500MBytes.
Is this the normarl behavior? If so, in my case, maybe it's better disable the SMB Multichannel?
Thanks in advance!
