I have been trying to resolve an issue using VSS for quite some time. I have read through numerous forums about VSS issues and tried re-registering files, ran the Tweaking.com script to Repair Volume Shadow Copy, ran sfc, defragged, and many other items that I cannot remember (this has been ongoing for months).
When I execute the command: vshadow -p -script=vss-setvar-c.cmd -exec=vss-exec-c.cmd c: (or for the "D" drive), it fails.
I have also tried using vssadmin to add a shadow and this also gives me the same results.
I have followed the guide to list shadows and writers to ensure they do not have errors. After running several of the fixes, these all show as in "ok" status, but they still fail.
