I've got a DFS namespace hosted by several servers. svr1 is running server 2012 and all other servers svr2, svr3 and svr4 are all running server 2008 R2.
All 4 servers are part of a replication group, and have been replicating without issue for the last couple of months. Since Monday svr1 will stop replicating every 4 hours or so. I know the replication stops because I run a script every 2 hours
to report any backlogs. Every other iteration of the script and the script hangs. I check the event logs and debug directory and see that replication is not writing info in either place. The only way to restore replication is to reboot the
server or kill the dfsrs process. Note that replication between svr2, svr3, and svr4 is working as expected.
There are no errors giving me any clue as to why the replication has stopped. Meanwhile, my backlog is growing.
I've found several articles for 2008 r2 that suggest deleting the replication groups and recreating them, but I'm not finding much for server 2012 specifically?
Would that be worth my time or does anyone have any better suggestions?
