I seem to have a problem with the dashboard on Windows Server 2012 essentials R2. The Storage tab of the dashboard is no longer displaying a list of server folders and hard drives. It just displays the message "Refreshing the list of items..."
Also the media tab of the dashboard settings displays the message
"Cannot access the media streaming settings
An unknown problem prevented the server from accessing your media streaming settings. Wait a few minutes and then try again. If this message appears again, you might be able to resolve the issue by restarting the server. If you continue to experience this problem, try uninstalling any new Add-ins. If the problem persists, contact product support."
There is a health monitoring alert active "The windows server essentials storage service is not running" However the given resolution says to use the dashboard to "try to repair" the issue. This gets rid of the health alert untill the health monitoring tab is refreshed.

You can access data on the hard drives, but you will not be able to perform tasks related to Storage.
The following Storage Service is not running:
Windows Server Essentials Storage Service (WseStorageSvc)
Resolution
You must use the Dashboard to start the service.
To start the service
1. Open the server Dashboard.
2. In the navigation pane, click the alert icon to open the Health Monitoring tab.
3. In the Health Monitoring tab, select the alert, and in Tasks, click Try to repair.
I have gone into the local component services and made sure that "Windows Server Essentials Storage Service" Is running, however, a refresh of the page immediately shows this service as stopped.
Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?
Thanks,
