It was seen that if we install Windows Server 2008 or 2008 R2 freshly i.e. not upgrading from Windows Server 2003, the 100 MB System Reserved Partition is "always" created. Only when we upgrade from 2003 is the System and Boot partition the same.
But I have observed that even when I did a fresh install of Windows Server 2012, on some of the machines, it did not create the 350 MB System Reserved partition. I'm not able to figure out the reason so I'm not sure in which cases would Windows create this separate partition and in which cases it won't.
Anyone have any info on this?
Thanks in advance.
