Hello Everybody,
I have a Windows 7 Pro laptop that uses a mapped server drive (Server 2008 R2) with offline files enabled. Last night I did quite a significant amount of work, saved it in the mapped drive as I normally would, and when I logged in at the office this morning, all of the files I saved in that mapped drive last night are gone. This has never happened in the last 6 years I've been working here, I cannot restore the files from a backup because the mapped drive is what gets backed up and the files are not on there either.
Does anybody know why this may have happened and is there any way to restore those files that simply seem to have disappeared? I know they were saved there because if I go into recent documents I can see the files there with the associated file path but when I try to open them it says they are not there. I also went into Sync Center, clicked manage offline files and viewed my offline files, the files were also not in there.
This really has me worried since every user with a laptop is using offline files and I can't have files just disappearing randomly. If anybody can shed some light on this or give me a possible solution it would be greatly appreciated.
