Good Afternoon,
I'm running a domain with Windows Server 2008. We also created a second server, to serve as a fileserver and to handle a few large files. The file server has the role activated and installed, with file redirect, and was running fine, however around two days ago something happened (I don't know what) but the users began receiving "Access is Denied" error, whether accessing files manually or via offline file sync. The users are running Windows 7 Enterprise.
On my own computer I have admin rights, I tried taking ownership of the folder back on the server but even then, with read/write access, still receive an "Access is Denied" error. I tried to "Disable offline files" and re-enable it, and that revived a few files, but I still don't have permission to delete any files it brought me.
This has happened on the majority of the computers which communicated with the file server.
So my question is, how do I return permissions to the appropriate users, with read / write access?
I can supply more details if required.
Thanks!
