Hi There,
I have 4 Tb data on my file server (SAN) and right now shadow copy is active on the servers so I have 30 days backup.
I would like to make a backup of them every weekend to have longer backup.
The former IT Manager sat up a backup system with DPM 2010 Which I don't know how to work with it and tape backup.
I bought a NAS and it has Nova Backup application but the application dose not support files with long name. I tried to educate my colleagues to avoid having long file name, but so far no luck :(
I tried Robocopy but it has an issue with open files. my colleagues do not want to turn off their computers even on Friday evening. also some of my colleagues are in the different region so when it is night time for us it is day for them and they are working.
I am just wondering is there any way to have access to shadow copies and make a back up of them? for example have access to the shadow copy of the first day of month (or any specific day - or date) and make a backup of it
OR is there anyway to force a policy to turn all computers off in the network on Friday evening at 10:00 pm?
you are wellcome for any idea even writting codes in C#.
