How to add Local Admin group to a file server without changing current permissions

Here is the tricky part I am having issues with , I tried to add the local admin group from the root folder to all subfolders and files but faced the follows :

- Subfolders are configured with different permissions than the root shared folder ( on many folders , the permissions are not inherited )

- Local admin group has been deleted in many subfolders thus no access.

- When running GUI to “take ownership” of folders , found a problem while running : “You do not have permission to read the contents of directory folder name. Do you want to replace the directory permissions with permissions granting you Full Control? All permissions will be replaced if you press Yes.”

- Have to press “No” otherwise permissions will change / replaced.

- When pressing “No” get an error “Access denied”.

Is there a way to ADD Local Administrators permissions without changing the current permissions ?  Perhaps a GPO to push through the entire folder tree ? or Local Group Policy or anything like that ?
