We currently have approximately 250 users accessing a Windows 2008 RDS cluster (9 RDS and a RDS broker). Roaming profiles are in place as well as user folder redirection (ie: home, desktop and appdata etc - via GPO).
At present the folder structure is setup as follows:
- Roaming Profile location =
\\server01\tsredir$\tsprofile\%username%\
- Redirected user desktop location =
\\server01\tsredir$\tsdesktop\%username%\
- Redirected user My Docs location =
\\server01\tsredir$\tshome\%username%\
- Redirected appdata location =
\\server01\tsredir%\tsappdata\%username%\
We would like to simply the folder structure as follows:
- Roaming Profile location =
\\server02\tsredir\%username%\tsprofile\
- Redirected user desktop location =
\\server02\tsredir\%username%\tsdesktop\
- Redirected My Docs location =
\\server02\tsredir\%username%\tshome\
- Redirected appdata location =
\\server02\tsredir\%username%\tsappdata\
Furthermore at the 'domain users' group currently has full access permissions to the TSREDIR share meaning all users can potentially access each others redirected folders. On the new server (server02) we wish to only give users full access to their own folder location (ie: \\server02\tsredir\joe_blogs).
What would be the best way to move the redirected user data, setup correct permissions and adjust the folder structure?
