DFS/DFSR and renaming servers?

Has anyone any experience of renaming servers that are namespace servers for DFS and have memberships for replication please?

The scenario is we have "current-server" and "new-server" and I need to retire "current-server" and rename "new-server" to take its place.

We're moving the file server data using RoboCopy but there are a few DFS-R replications and I'm a little unsure on how to handle the DFS/DFSR side of things?

We're using a domain DFS namespace so DFS looks like a simple case of remove the old server from the list of namespace servers, do the swap, then add the new server but replication is where I'm struggling to find a definitive answer.

"current-server" is 2008 R2 and "new-server" is 2012 R2.
