Hello,
I have a very large (9 TB) volume on my fileserver that I would like break up to smaller volumes using namespaces.
On the root of this large volume is a folder called "Projects" that is shared. In the Projects folder is about 60 folders that represent different projects that each have their own security settings. We are currently using Access based enumeration and would like to continue to do so in namespaces.
Here is an example of an existing path: \\mycompanyfileserver\projects\secret-project
When I convert this to namespaces, I will need to do the stand alone namespace because I MUST have the same paths as I currently do because we have a ridiculous amount of scripts, documentation etc that all have the hard paths of \\mycompanyfileserver\projects in them.
I want to distribute the 60 folders onto different volumes....Namespaces is the right application for this, right?
I have done this in a lab environment and am having issues access the project folders. Even though I have security rights to the folders, it is giving me an access denied error. I should note that I am not sharing the individual folders, but adding them to the namespace as \\fileserver\d$\secret-project
Am I on the right path here? It doesn't seem to be working like I need it to.
Thank you!
Patrick
