Hi all,
I'm trying to enable using my Samsung multifunction to scan documents and save them to a folder that I've set up on my server.
So far this is what I've done.
1. Set up a new folder D:\Samsung Scans and share that around the entire network
2. Using the IIS Manager on Server 2003 SP2 I added a new FTP site called 'Samsung Scans'
2a. I gave it the same IP address as my server (192.168.250.1) and it's set to port 21 (Should I give it a unique IP address?)
2b. Allow anonymous connections, and in the username I've used a default user ISUR_WINSERV2
2c. The content for this resource should come from: a directory located on this computer
2d. FPT Site Directory: D:\Samsung Scans and full rights
3. Following the instructions on my Samsung multifunction, I've added a new entry into my address book and added the SMB details
SMB Server Address: 192.168.250.1 (should this be a unique IP?) SMB Server Port: 21 Anonymous Y/N: N Login ID: IUSR_WINSERV2 (Should I set up a specific user for this account?) Password: Confirm Password: Domain: EPL.local Path: Winserv2\Samsung Scans
Important Info: Server name = Winserv2
Domain: EPL (Short for Ensitech Pty Ltd)
DNS Suffix: EPL.local
Now I do understand that my errors could equally be coming from my samsung but the scanner APPEARS to be trying to send but I keep getting Network errors... SO... could someone help me understand the server
side of this equation?
I really need to know what I'm doing wrong when trying to send files to a shared folder on my server as I keep getting problems.
Thanks all
