File ownership on Mount point

$

System

Windows Server 2012R2, VM (HyperV)

Vanilla installation, fully patched through windows update

Storage provide by Dell Equallogic

file system as follows....

H: CRM

|_ CRM (Folder)

     |_CRM_Database (Drive as mount point)

     |_CRM_Logs (Drive as mount point)

I am granting the SQL service account permissions to the drives, through the properties of the mounted volume. On some I get an enumerate error and so I take ownership to apply permissions, and it hangs with a windows security pop up and stating "changing the ownership of:"

I have tried using tools to change the ownership from the command line but I don't seem to have the correct syntax for a mounted volume.

Reading around the subject mount points should work out of the box and I cant find anything similar to what I am experiencing

Any help is appreciated, thanks for reading
