BranchCache latency GPO setting

I need to know if there is any downside to reducing the minimum latency threshold for BranchCache from 80ms to something like 8ms? (Referring to the GPO setting “Configure BranchCache for network files”)

We have a number of Branch Offices, over a variety of WAN connection speeds and varying WAN latencies. We would like to use BranchCache to reduce the bandwidth utilization on our WAN, and also to speed up access to network files over the WAN.

Almost all of our WAN links have latency figures between 1ms - 35ms on average, hence if we dont configure the GPO setting to something lower then my understanding is that BranchCache caching wouldnt begin because the default minimum is 80ms.

We are planning to use both Distributed Mode and Hosted mode, with Win 2012R2 Servers and Win 8.1 client workstations.
