I am encountering two issues after building up a new three-node Windows Server 2012 failover cluster.
1) When using local Computer Management --> System Tools --> Shared Folders --> Sessions to list current SMB sessions, the list appears very slowly, one connection at a time. As we have hundreds of sessions, it never completes, and the snap-in becomes unresponsive. If I remotely manage the server from a 2008 R2 box, I can enumerate the sessions immediately, with no delay whatsoever. This is happening on all three cluster nodes.
2) In order to migrate the data to this new cluster, I built out new volumes on an intermediary server (running Server 2008 R2) on a new storage array. After going through the cluster build and adding storage, everything seemed to be working great -- I was able to add all of the shares on each required Client Access Point, and remote access to the shares is working too. When I use my domain admin account to connect to the file server via UNC, I see all of the shares and can connect to each one without a problem. If, however, I am logged on locally to one of the cluster nodes, I cannot access the actual folders that correspond to the share names.
For example, let's say there's an IT folder on the server located at P:\Data\IT. That folder is shared as "Tech". If I go to\\server\Tech, I can access the data, but if I am on the server and try to open up P:\Data\IT, I get a message that says "You don't currently have permission to access this folder. Click continue to permanently get access to this folder." If I do that, it runs through the entire folder contents and gives my domain admin account explicit full access permissions to everything, even though "Domain Admins" is a member of "Server\Administrators" both that local group and "domain\Domain Admins" have "full control" NTFS permissions to the folder.
Thank you,
Adam
