Hello
I have a Windows 2K3 Server and have currently setup shared folders to map these on users' desktops as network drives.
However when I map these network drives it comes up asking for a username and password which I put in the admin credentials to complete the process. I should also mention that there are no DC's on this network. All servers are standard setup in a workgroup.
My manager wants to have these drives mapped without putting in the admin user name and password in order to complete the process. One way I can think of is allowing guest access, but don't believe this is a very secure way. It could also cause problems in that users could get access denied when they try to create files.
Is there a way to achieve this without DC's and the admin credentials when mapping drives?
TIA
