I decided to run a HDD performance test because it felt like my Windows 2012 R2 box was running a bit sluggish. When it came to sequential write test using a 1GB file, it took over 10 minutes to complete. After some research, I noticed that Windows Server
disables write-caching to avoid data lost, and wondered if that had any impact on write performance? Additionally, online performance review of my HDD indicated a 70MB/s Read and 70MB/s sequential write performance. I also wonder when they conducted that test,
if they had write-caching enabled. Is this normal?
