DFS Replication Event 4004 -> The volume manager is shutdown

Hi all,

yesterday I tried to setup a DFS replication between two Namespaceservers with an iSCSI disk each.

On both disk are several folders. Each of the folders should be synchronized via DFSR.

But after I configured the replication I got the following error in my event log:

Event 4004, DFSR

The DFS Replication service stopped replication on the replicated folder at local path E:\Transfer

Additional information:

Error: 9451 (The volume manager is shutdown, shutting down, or waiting to shutdown)

I have already seen a topic within this forum where a user described that the reinitialization of this replication group and the deletion of the hidden DFSR folder helps to solve the problem. But in this case I recreated the replication group several times without any success.

My current hardware specification:

2xDL385G5 with W2k8 R2

1x Allnet NAS

1x Synology NAS

Each NAS maps one LUN to one of the both servers.

Any ideas how I can solve the issue? The replication between two folders lying on the local disks works fine!

regards,

Fabian
