Hi
I'm trying to build a Hyper-V cluster using a cheap JBOD for storage and some old servers, but I'm having a hard time getting my planned configuration validated.
My planned configuration might be flawed and impossible, so I'm hoping someone can give me some pointers.
This is what I'm thinking:
The cluster should consist of my 4 HP DL380G7 serveres with Windows Server 2012 R2 and connected to an Intel JBOD2224S2DP JBOD.
The SAS HBA's in all 4 servers could be Intels RS25GB008
SAS HBA/Controller: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/servers/raid/raid-controller-rs25gb008.html
In the JBOD I want to put a couple of SSD's and a mix of different SAS HDD's and use the tiering and dedublication features in 2012 R2's Storage Spaces and configure cluster volumes for VHDX's and VM configs.
I don't see any possibility to run dual SAS to each server, since the JBOD only has 4 external 8088 SAS ports. (and 2 for connecting another JBOD on top) Can't see that I can upgrade to 8 external SAS ports..?
But since the 4 servers are in clustered HA setup, I don't see the single SAS connection as a huge problem.
Later on, I would like to add a second identical JBOD enclosure. As I see it, that would make it possible to connect SAS redundant to all 4 servers, or to extend the cluster with another 4 nodes.
Is this possible at all?
