DFS-N over VPN issues

Hi,

Server: Windows 2008 R2

Client: Windows 7 pro 64bit

Shared folders configured through DFS-N using:  \\domain.name\namespace\sharedfolder1

User connects using a VPN that is authenticated using RADIUS. So, same domain creds to access the VPN and the shared folders.

When the user establishes the connection, the shared folder works. After a 1 mins or so, the shared folder becomes inaccessible. No authentication errors. Windows always says that the location is no longer available. Trying to access the shared folder using the server FQDN or IP works. PING'ing the domain name works, so I don't think it's a DNS issue. I even forced an static entry in the hosts file and same results.

If the VPN connection is closed and opened back again, the shared folder becomes accessible using the DFS namespace but then again, after 1 min or so, same results.

The firewall supporting the VPN is completely open for VPN users (no denies). NetBIOS is allowed as well as multicast.. just in case :)

Any ideas are welcome !

Thanks.
