Can I migrate physical hard disks in storage space from Windows 2012 R2 to Windows 2012?

Hi,

     We have a Windows 2012 R2 server.  It's running storage space with 10 hard disk in Parity mode.  We would like to move the hard disks from Windows 2012 R2 server to Windows 2012, so that we can "free" our windows 2012 R2 server to do something else.   Can we just unplug the hard disks in Windows 2012 R2 and hook it to Windows 2012 server without any data lose?  If we can do it, what's best "formal" procedures to do it?
