Attempting to move or copy files from Windows 7 client to a subdirectory on a mapped drive that resides on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server. Right click and choose Move or Copy and nothing happens. Attempt to do a copy from a command line I get"The system cannot find the path specified."
I have restarted both the Windows 7 client and the server.
If I copy the files to an alternate share on the same server I can then copy the files from there to the target directory while logged on to the server console. I can also share the target folder itself and copy files to it directly via a mapped drive from the Windows 7 client (or, again, from another folder on the server).
I am able to copy files FROM the target directory (via the mapped drive) to other locations. However, if I copy a file from the target directory and then attempt to Move or Copy it back via the original mapped drive (to the target folder which is a subdirectory), on the first time only it recognizes that I'm attempting to replace an existing file with another with the same name, but then does nothing when I choose replace. On subsequent attempts, it does not even present the dialog box warning that I'm attempting to replace an existing file.
The target folder is on a mapped drive with hundreds of other subfolders that have been in use for years. Moves and copies to/from the other folders are working properly. No changes to permissions have been made.
Ideas?
