Good Afternoon,
I am getting myself up to speed on Storage Spaces and have found a potential fit in my data center that will solve a need. But I have a question on whether or not I can use it. So here it is.
I have a SQL2008R2 cluster running on Windows 2008R2 nodes. I want to add a storage space on a Scale Out File server so I can move a couple of sensitive databases off of my SAN and onto this new share that I will create. To accomplish this I am assuming that I will need to upgrade my cluster nodes to Windows 2012R2. If I do this then can SQL2008R2 use the share that I created on my new Scale Out File server, or would I have to go to the latest version of SQL server?
Thank you,
Scott Huntley
