dfsr partial namespace replication behavior (server 2008r2)

Hi ,

I have a small question , i have been running searching around with a good answers but did not found anything definitive

My topology differ a bit , but my scenario is this on a very very small scale .

I have 2 ADS site ,first site is  datacenter while second site is the office .

It 1 Namespace with 10 folders.

My main DFS server is in the datacenter

5 of those folder are very active by end-user while the 5 other are not very active .

So for performance issue i  install a second dfs in my office site and publish the namespace. But i dont want to replicate all the folder only the 5 very active. But when i publish the namespace to my office site it create all 10 folder . So i create the replication groups for my 5 folder . But i still have 5 empty folder it that site .

Since all 10 folder have gpo domain dfs map drive(\\mydomain\myrootdfs\myfolder) , what gonna be the behavior for my end user for those not replicated folder. There gonna get map to the empty folder in the site or it will detect that the folder is not replicated and it gonna map those drive to the site that hold my data.

Of course i can test this in lab , but i rather know the official behavior.

Everything is server2008r2 including forest level.
